Artist's Description
This bison is part of the Texas State herd and also part of the remnant of the historic Southern Herd preserved by rancher Charles Goodnight at the urging of his wife, Mary Ann Dyer Goodnight. The image is part of the 104th Psalm Collection and a portion of the proceeds from its sale will be donated to the general scholarship fund at my Alma Mater, Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas.

Nature and wildlife photography has long been a passion of mine and while I prefer black and white photography, I recognize that some things just need to be photographed in color. Photography gives me the opportunity to show the beauty of God's creation in ways my viewers may be unaccustomed to seeing. While I always have had a love of photography, it took on a special meaning after a cycling accident resulted in a traumatic brain injury. There are things I struggle with now, but I'm blessed in that photography is not one of them. In fact, it was the camera that helped me begin to re-engage with the world.
